Victor’s Kitchen

Except for one time when I felt that the cheong fun was too mushy, Victor’s Kitchen has always been a treat. I used to go to the Sunshine branch every time I had something to send for printing.

Something about being in the room full of printers and papers that gets me excited. Victor’s Kitchen was just the bonus. YL was the one who brought me to try the one at Chinatown Point and I like that there’s no crowd (or so it seems at the few times I’ve been there) and it’s not as crazy as Sunshine Plaza’s original branch.

Guo Tie 锅贴

This is my go-to ‘snack’ whenever I head to Chinatown. It is by far the best guotie I’ve had! It must be also the fact that it was such a treat whenever a relative bought it over when I was young. The perfect thickness of the crispy-doughy skin, and the pork and chives inside which are not too overwhelming, go so well with the chilli sauce and vinegar. I don’t usually eat the ginger shreds but I don’t mind them in the vinegar dip.
