Guo Tie 锅贴

This is my go-to ‘snack’ whenever I head to Chinatown. It is by far the best guotie I’ve had! It must be also the fact that it was such a treat whenever a relative bought it over when I was young. The perfect thickness of the crispy-doughy skin, and the pork and chives inside which are not too overwhelming, go so well with the chilli sauce and vinegar. I don’t usually eat the ginger shreds but I don’t mind them in the vinegar dip.

Vegetarian beehoon

There are mornings where I crave for economical beehoon, and days that I crave for vegetarian beehoon. Gluten cravings can be majorly satisfied with a plate of vegetarian beehoon. I love gluten. Thankfully, there’s a good one in Sengkang, not too far from where I live. Good hawker fare in the far North East is a rarity that I’ll always be thankful for.
