Keisuke Cineleisure

We finally went back for some crab ramen since it moved from Millennia Walk.

I had the light version while Immanuel had the rich one. I prefer this one. We were especially bloated, no fault of this place.

We’re learning to listen to our bodies and stop overeating.

I brought my lovely colleagues and husband to Ni-Hachi before our key collection.

Duck soup for dipping

My usual 8pc tempura that goes so well with the lovely freshly made soba.

The Sushi Bar

Cindy brought me to The Sushi Bar for a wonderful birthday treat.

It didn’t quite match up to what we had for her birthday at millenia, but was delicious nonetheless. I thought the rice was a little plain initially but I realised all the gravy had gone to the bottom.

So here’s the beautiful bowl in all its glory.

A day after my actual birthday, Immanuel brought me to Teppei for a simple omakase dinner and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience! It was even more informal than Roan Kikunoi so I was really at ease.

So glad that we finally got to try it! Now I can strike it off my list and stop wondering what it would have been like. There were so many dishes presented in such interesting ways that we lost count. There were two that we didn’t manage to snap photos of as we ate it off the spoon in their hands!

The night ended with the staff suddenly crouching at the corner and then surprising us with a candle on our uni rice!

There were 2 other birthdays babies so the atmosphere wasn’t too daunting. I loved the entire experience.

Some customers were obviously regulars and I wonder if I’d ever get to that stage where Teppei Omakase becomes a norm. For now, I told Immanuel that we could come back for special occasions but going too often might make it less special.

Ni-hachi soba

Another day of me travelling to town for soba 🙂

This time it’s Nadai Fuji Soba Ni-Hachi (itadakimasu by PARCO) at 100am. I initially wanted to rush down for Teppei but my stomach hasn’t been too awesome so I decided to skip the sashimi and searched for soba instead.

Was pretty excited to find that there was this place – freshly produced in-house but didn’t have the hand-cut feel of the soba of Shimbashi.

The tempura here was far better than that at Yomoda and I’d return again to have it. It was freshly fried and one of the pieces was chicken! And I could top up $2 for a bigger portion of soba.

If only soba gained prominence in Singapore – can’t wait to see more specialty stores popping up in our little red dot.
